Understanding Credits

Kyni uses a credit system to charge for operations that consume AI, data, or infrastructure resources. Think of credits like fuel—you buy them, then spend them as you work.

What costs credits?

Generate Article 15 credits Full article with outline, 1,500–2,500 words, SEO check, metadata, featured image
Refresh Article 10 credits Rewrite an existing article to recover ranking
Regenerate Article 10 credits Re-generate after edits
Keyword Research 20 credits Per run; discovers ~50 keywords
Translation 5 credits Per language per article
Website Audit 8 credits Site-wide SEO analysis

Social Post (X) 25 credits X premium tier

Free operations:

  • Publishing (Autopilot or manual)
  • Editing articles
  • Tracking rankings and reports
  • Setting up integrations
  • Content Brief generation

How to buy credits

  1. Go to Billing in the app
  2. Click Add Credits
  3. Choose your amount
  4. Check out with Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  5. Credits appear instantly

How credits are reserved and charged

When you start an operation, Kyni places a temporary hold on your credits to guarantee they won’t run out mid-task. Here’s how it works:

Hold Phase (1–2 seconds)

  • You click Generate Article
  • Kyni checks if you have enough credits
  • Kyni reserves (holds) the credits
  • You see a confirmation

Work Phase (1–5 minutes)

  • Kyni writes your article
  • No other charges happen
  • You can watch progress in real time

Confirm Phase (instant)

  • Once the article is done, the hold becomes final
  • Credits are charged to your account

Release Phase (if something goes wrong)

  • If generation fails, Kyni releases the held credits
  • You’re never charged for failed work

This hold → confirm → release pattern protects you from being charged twice if the system retries.

Autopilot and publishing

If you enable Autopilot, Kyni publishes one article per day automatically (08:00–14:59 local time, weighted to 10–11 AM). Publishing itself is free—you only pay for the content generation (Keyword Research + Generate Article).

Manual publishes (clicking Publish yourself) also cost zero credits.

Checking your balance

  1. Go to Billing in the app
  2. Look at the Credits Available number at the top
  3. Click Transactions to see your full history

Each transaction shows:

  • Date and time
  • What you did (e.g., “Generated article for ‘Best Coffee Shops’”)
  • Credits used
  • New balance

What if I run out?

If you try to generate content and don’t have enough credits:

  • Kyni shows a warning: “Insufficient credits”
  • The operation is blocked
  • Your existing content is safe
  • You can buy more credits anytime
