Updated

Google Search Console & Analytics

Kyni syncs data from Google Search Console (rankings, impressions, clicks) and Google Analytics (traffic). This gives you a complete picture of your SEO performance.

What Kyni syncs

From Google Search Console:

  • Keyword rankings (position in search results)
  • Impressions (how often your site appears in results)
  • Clicks (how many people click to your site)
  • Click-through rate (CTR)

From Google Analytics:

  • Visitors (unique users)
  • Page views
  • Bounce rate
  • Time on page
  • Conversion events (if configured)

Data syncs daily, starting at 1 AM your local time.

Prerequisites

  1. Google Search Console is set up and verified for your domain
  2. Google Analytics 4 is installed on your site
  3. Both properties are linked in your Google account

If you don’t have these yet, follow the Google Search Console setup guide and Google Analytics setup guide.

Connect to Google

Step 1: Start the connection

  1. Go to your site in Kyni
  2. Click Settings → Integrations
  3. Look for Google Search Console and Google Analytics
  4. Click Connect

Step 2: Authorize with Google

  1. You’ll be taken to Google’s login page
  2. Sign in with the Google account that owns your Search Console and Analytics properties
  3. Review the permissions Kyni requests:
    • Read search data (Search Console)
    • Read analytics data (Analytics)
  4. Click Allow

You’ll be taken back to Kyni. The status should show Connected.

Step 3: Select your properties (if needed)

If you have multiple Search Console properties or Analytics accounts:

  1. Kyni will ask you to select which property to sync
  2. Choose the one that matches your site URL
  3. Click Confirm

Data synchronization

Once connected, Kyni automatically:

  • Pulls keyword ranking data daily
  • Updates impressions, clicks, and CTR
  • Tracks which keywords drive traffic
  • Shows trends over time

This data appears in:

  • Rankings tab — rankings for each keyword
  • Site Overview — traffic trends and top keywords
  • Reports — weekly and monthly analytics

First-time data delay

The first sync usually takes a few hours. Here’s why:

  • Google Search Console requires 24–48 hours to populate data for new sites
  • Kyni does its first sync 1–2 hours after connecting
  • You might not see keyword data if your site is brand new (< 2 weeks)

Don’t worry if data is empty at first. Once Google has indexed your site and collected impressions, the data will appear.

Troubleshooting

Authorization fails:

  • Make sure you’re signed in to the correct Google account
  • Check that your Google account has access to the Search Console property
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

No ranking data appears:

  • Your site must be indexed by Google (usually takes 1–2 weeks for new sites)
  • Your property must have at least 1 keyword impression in Search Console
  • Wait 24 hours after first connecting for data to populate

Impressions don’t match Google Search Console:

  • Kyni filters data to show only your target keywords
  • Google Search Console shows all keywords
  • Small differences are normal due to reporting delays

Analytics data is missing:

  • Google Analytics 4 must be installed on your site
  • Event tracking must be enabled
  • Data is only available from the date you connected (historical data is not synced)

Disconnecting

If you want to stop syncing Google data:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Disconnect next to Google Search Console
  3. Your historical data in Kyni is kept, but new data won’t sync

Privacy and permissions

Kyni only requests permission to:

  • Read your Search Console data (cannot change anything)
  • Read your Analytics data (cannot change anything)

Kyni cannot:

  • Modify your Search Console or Analytics configuration
  • Access other Google products
  • View your Gmail, Drive, or other Google services
  • Share your data with third parties

You can revoke access anytime through your Google Account settings.

Next steps
